Be Bold

How to Overcome the Media’s Distortions

You stand behind a fan unfolded. Mirrored reflection distorted. Never measuring up. Unfair. Unjust. A shadowed existence. Hidden within yourself.

Be bold. Drop appearances. Stand on your own.

The distortion you see is of your own making. Levy not against what you think you should be. Simply…be. Overflowing you are in all of God’s graces. Beauty, intelligence, and talents galore. Unique to yourself.

Be bold. Drop appearances. Stand on your own.

Reflect not your friends or TV celebrities. Reflect the Light God has so blessed in thee. Your talents are greatly needed.

Be bold. Drop appearances. Stand on your own. Child of God, see what God sees in thee.

It is so easy to get caught up in the Media’s distortion of talent and beauty. Too much emphasis on outward appearances and money. Creating an impossible cycle to duplicate. Setting an imaginary standard of what to look like and how to behave. Arrogantly overlooking the obvious. Sometimes wealth cannot be measured by glamor and huge bank accounts. For true wealth is the richness of heart and action.

Better, it might be, to simply…be yourself. Reflect the goodness that you carry within. Reflect the breathtaking beauty of which you have been blessed.
