Distinctions Unique: Perfection Inside and Out

Understanding I have of this place you sit. I was there once. Unsettled with personal distinctions unique. Pointy chin. Ears flapped out. Hair swirling in every direction. Voice whiny and nasal in sound. Drawn away from the reflection in the mirror. Forever wishing for the distinctions of someone else.

Until…until understanding beauty. Swaddling my newborn with pure delight. For my child was born the most beautiful…inside and out. What glorious distinctions worn upon a perfect little face. I sat. I sat with myself. I looked at my child in disbelief. Innocent beauty tugging at my heart. This perfectly formed Being need not ever be changed. Not even with the chin of mine manifested on this perfectly beautiful newborn’s face.

That is when the understanding came. Child of God am I. This is the way my Heavenly Father looks at me.

Child of God, beautiful in every way. Carry within your heart the knowledge of your perfection inside and out. Wish not to change one distinction unique. For the Glory and Beauty of God is manifested in you.

So critical we are of outward appearances. Look in the mirror. Reach with your heart. Sadness to God for every critical thought or remark. You are a child of God. Perfectly beautiful just as you are. Please leave words of encouragement in the space below.

So important to realize this. We’re all much too critical about outward appearances, especially our own.
